Two Stanley Cup Championships

2002-03: Finished the season only seven points away from 900 career points....Recorded the game-winning goal shorthanded 10/21/02 at Calgary (Jamie McLennan)....Average ice time was 24:14 last season....Played 1,300th career NHL game 1/15/03 at Chicago.... Missed a total of 15 games with leg/knee injury....Missed one game with a finger injury to bring his total man-games lost due to injury last season at 16....Appeared in all four 2003 first round playoff games vs. Anaheim going scoreless and finishing the series minus-three.

2001-02: Norris Trophy runner up to teammate Nicklas Lidstrom.Appeared in 79 games finishing season with a leagues best mark of +40.Did not dress (healthy scratch) for  three games.Posted 33 assists, his highest assist total since recording 39 in his final year with Chicago (1997-98).Career high assist mark of 58 set three times (1988-89 in Montreal, 1992-93 and 1995-96 in Chicago).Posted 3 assists 11/20/01 vs. Nashville for his season best single game assist/point total.Scored power play goal in overtime 3/13/02 vs. Edmonton.Played in all 23 of Detroits 2002 post-season games posting a playoff best mark of +15.His 13 playoff assists led all defensemen and was fourth overall among all players in post-season play (only Peter Forsberg, Steve Yzerman and Sergei Fedorov had more playoff assists in the 2002 post-season.Led all players in post-season shorthand assists (3) as well as shorthand points (3).Finsihed 2nd overall in playoff points by defensemen (14) behind teammate Nicklas Lidstrom.Finished 12th overall in playoff scoring.

2000-01:Appeared in only 24 games due to knee injuries....Missed only five games after first knee surgery 10/20/2000....Missed 44 games after second knee surgery 11/20/2000....Did not play final nine regular season games due to broken thumb....Played in five of Detroits six first round playoff games vs. Los Angeles, scoring a goal 4/21/01 in Game Five of that series....7/31/01 named Captain of 2002 U.S. Mens Olympic Hockey Team in Salt Lake City, Utah....Earned Silver Medal in 2002 Olympics.

1999-2000: First full season with Detroit....Career high plus/minus rating (+48) and second best in NHL....800th career point an assist 10/7/99 at Atlanta.... 1,100th career game 11/28/99 vs. Phoenix.... 10th career All-Star game appearance 2/6/2000 in Toronto.

1998-99: Red Wing debut 3/24/99 vs. Buffalo....First goal and point as Red Wing was power play game-winner vs. Tampa Bay 3/26/99....Three time Norris Trophy Winner (89, 93 and 96)....1989 Norris made him first right-handed shot to win in first 40 years of the Norris....Named Western Conference Captain in 1997 All-Star Game....Chicagos all-time leader in penalty minutes (1,495).

1997-98: played 1,000th NHL game vs. New Jersey (3/16/98)....Captain of U.S. Mens Olympic Team....Finished fifth in scoring for Chicago.

1996-97: Led Blackhawk defensemen in scoring for seventh consecutive season (42).

1995-96: Named team captain....Led team in scoring with 72 points, becoming first defenseman in team history to do so....15-game point streak (4-16Ð20, 10/26Ð11/28/95)....Tied his own team defenseman record with 58 assists.

1994-95: Tied a Blackhawk playoff record for most overtime goals in season (2) with OT winners in Games 3 and 4 of Western Conference Finals.

1993-94: 400th career assist vs. Winnipeg (10/14/93).

1992-93: Had 58 assists to set Blackhawks defenseman record....Career-high 286 penalty minutes.

1991-92: Led Chicago to Stanley Cup Finals with 21 points in 18 games, setting new club record for points in playoffs by defenseman....Also set club defenseman record with six playoff goals.

1990-91: Scored 64 points in 77 games in first season with Chicago.

1989-90: Became the first American-born player to captain the Montreal Canadiens....Played seven seasons (402 games, 72-237Ð309) before being traded to Chicago (6/29/90) for Denis Savard and second round pick in 1991.

1988-89: established a career-high 58 assists in 80 games....Scored 19 points (4-15Ð19) in 21 playoff games in leading Montreal to Stanley Cup Finals.

1987-88: Scored a career-high 20 goals in 71 games.

1985-86: member of Montreals Stanley Cup Championship team, scoring 2-9Ð11 in 20 playoff games.

1984-85: Played first full NHL season and was selected to leagues All-Rookie Team.

1983-84: Began season with Team USA during pre-Olympic tour....Made NHL debut (3/8/84)vs. Hartford following Olympic Games....Team USA for 1982 World Junior Championships, 1984, 87 and 91 Canada Cup tournaments, 1996 World Cup of Hockey, 1984 and 98 Olympics....Played two seasons at University of Wisconsin....NCAA All-Tournament Team in 1983.
